Baldwin Aquatic was commissioned by John Holland to construct the impressive lagoon pool at the Sky City Resort in Darwin, Northern Territory. The 2500 square metre lagoon pool features a swim up bar, poolside terrace restaurant and day spa, and private access from the lower level units. This pool is classed as one of Australia’s largest resort pools. It features a 30 metre wide sand beach entry, using 400 tonnes worth of sand imported from Queensland.

The eco-friendly filtration used was a perlite ‘bump’ filter, which provides very high water quality and clarity, whilst reducing water usage through the backwashing phase. A fresh water chlorinator was used for the lagoon pool, generating chlorine from the available salts in the local water supply, eliminating additional expenses for chlorine and salt in Darwin’s highly evaporative climate.
